Your exterior clean is finished. These tips explain what to expect next and how to look after the areas we cleaned or treated.
Use the sections that match your booking. If you also had BugBlock, read that guide before arranging any further washing.
Roof treatment and tank water: disconnect downpipes before treatment and keep them disconnected until at least 40 mm of rain has fallen after treatment. Reconnecting too soon can allow treatment product into your water supply.
Count rain from the treatment, not from the last time your tank filled. If you are unsure about rainfall, the downpipes or a diverter, contact us before reconnecting. We can help with disconnection and quote a diverter where practical.
Follow your cladding and paint manufacturer’s maintenance instructions. The right cleaning interval depends on the surface, shade, coastal exposure and surrounding vegetation.
A treatment works gradually. It is normal for growth to remain visible when we leave. On some roofs we see improvement after two to three months, while moss, lichen and black mould can take around 12 to 18 months to clear. Conditions and the type of growth affect the result.
Leave the roof to weather naturally. Do not scrub, water blast or add another treatment without speaking to us. If the roof looks uneven or you are unsure about progress, send us photos.
Our roof treatment weather guide explains the role of rain.
We have seen wand patterns become more noticeable on porous concrete two to four weeks after a wash where an effective follow-up treatment was not used. If lines or patches concern you after our visit, contact us so we can assess them.
Watch from ground level during the next heavy rain. Overflow, persistent drips or water spilling beside a downpipe can signal a blockage, damage or a drainage problem that needs another look.
Fresh leaf fall can block a cleared gutter again. Properties under trees may need more frequent checks. Do not climb onto the roof to investigate.
Check their condition from the ground. If they need attention, use a suitable professional service and follow the panel manufacturer’s maintenance advice. Do not walk on panels, lean a ladder against them or use abrasive cleaners.
Keep cleaning records with your property-maintenance information. Include entrances, paths and drainage points in routine site checks, especially after storms or heavy leaf fall.
If you need a maintenance plan for a busy site, tell us which areas need the most attention. We can discuss an appropriate schedule.
If something does not look right or you are unsure what to do, please get in touch. Photos and your job address help us give useful advice.
