Spider, fly, ant and cockroach treatment in Northland

Spiders are the number-one reason Northland customers book BugBlock. Cobwebs collect around eaves, windows, doors, corners and outdoor living areas. Inside, they appear across ceilings, behind furniture and in the places you have only just cleaned. Removing them can feel like a job that never stays finished. Dark cladding makes every strand stand out.

Flies are the second-biggest reason. Few things make a clean home feel dirty faster. They circle kitchens, land on benches and food, and leave dark spots across ceilings, walls and light fittings. Outside, they mark covered decks, balustrades, furniture and entertaining areas. Then there is the relentless buzzing of a blowfly repeatedly crashing against the windows.

BugBlock inside. BugBlock outside.

Complete protection combines an exterior residual barrier with a controlled interior fine-mist treatment. One coordinated booking protects both sides of the wall.

Exterior BugBlock insect barrier

Our exterior treatment targets the surfaces where insects land, walk and hide. The residual barrier controls listed insects when they land on or cross treated areas.

Where we apply the exterior treatment

We treat suitable exterior walls, eaves, soffits, window and door frames, entry points, foundation areas, cracks and crevices. Tell us about recurring problem spots before the visit.

Interior BugBlock fine-mist treatment

Our interior fine-mist system provides controlled coverage without soaking ceilings, walls or furnishings.

Where we apply the interior treatment

We target suitable skirting lines, window frames, doorways, entry points, cracks, crevices and identified insect harbourage areas.

Book before Northland's insects and our calendar get busy

Fly and spider activity can increase quickly as Northland warms up. Our September calendar often starts filling during August. During peak season, we can be booked four to six weeks in advance. We keep a small number of spaces for customers who urgently need help, but these are often taken quickly. Booking early puts BugBlock in place before webs and fly spots become established.

How to prepare for exterior and interior BugBlock

You do not need to book a house wash for us to apply BugBlock. Choose an interior treatment, an exterior treatment or both. Residual exterior treatments perform best on clean, dry surfaces. Washing first removes dirt, dust, old webbing and egg sacs that may interfere with even coverage and adhesion.

You do not need to wash every internal wall. Before we arrive, remove or cover food, utensils, pet bowls, toothbrushes, toys and personal items in the treatment area. Clear benches and floors so we can reach the areas being treated. Dusty or greasy target surfaces should be wiped clean and allowed to dry.

Once the treatment has dried, avoid wiping treated skirtings, frames and entry points unless necessary. Cleaning those surfaces can remove the residual barrier and shorten the protection.

Why BugBlock is different from a hardware-store spray

We have completed specialist training in product selection, preparation, application and safety. That knowledge guides dilution, coverage, timing and the areas we protect or avoid.

We use a professional water-based residual insect treatment suitable for the areas being treated. We prepare and apply it according to the product label and safety data requirements. Correct dilution and even coverage matter. A strong product can still give a poor result if it is mixed incorrectly or applied too lightly.

Blast Away Guys can coordinate exterior cleaning and insect treatment in one booking. We wash first, allow the surfaces to dry, then apply the exterior barrier. Inside, we use a separate fine-mist treatment where required. One team manages the preparation, timing and application.

How long can BugBlock keep working?

We use around three months as a practical planning point for an exterior treatment. It is not a fixed guarantee.

Some sheltered areas may keep working longer. Surfaces exposed to heavy rain, strong sunlight or frequent washing can weather sooner.

Interior surfaces are protected from rain and direct sunlight. This means the residual treatment may remain effective for longer indoors.

We do not promise one timeframe for every property or every insect. Exposure, surface type, surrounding vegetation and insect pressure all affect the result.

Spring is the ideal time to establish protection. Customers wanting stronger continuity through the hottest months can also ask about a half-price top-up in January or February.

Bundle BugBlock with a house wash and save

BugBlock works as a standalone service. Bundling it with a house wash is more efficient when exterior surfaces need cleaning first.

The same team completes both services. There is no second call-out. We wash first, wait until the surfaces are ready, then apply the exterior barrier.

Popular BugBlock service combinations

  • House wash + complete BugBlock inside and outside
We wash the exterior first, apply the residual barrier once surfaces are dry, then complete the separate interior fine-mist treatment.
  • House wash + outdoor entertaining-area wash + complete BugBlock
For covered entertaining areas, we wash the deck and balustrades. We also soft wash the underside of the roof, support posts and beams. This removes dust, grime and old webbing. Once the appropriate exterior surfaces are clean and dry, we apply BugBlock. We then complete the separate interior fine-mist treatment.
  • House wash plus exterior BugBlock
A practical option when exterior protection is required without an interior treatment.

Can I get an interior treatment as well as an exterior treatment?

Yes. Choose an interior treatment, an exterior residual barrier or complete protection inside and outside. The two treatments use different application methods and are quoted according to the areas being treated.

>

Which areas can BugBlock treat?

Outside, we treat exterior walls, eaves, window and door frames, entry points, foundation areas, cracks and crevices. Inside, we target suitable entry, travel and harbourage areas. Tell us about recurring problem spots when requesting your quote.

>

How long does an exterior BugBlock treatment last?

We use around three months as a practical planning point. Sheltered areas may keep working longer. Heavy rain, strong sunlight, frequent washing, surface type and insect pressure can shorten the result, so we do not promise one timeframe for every property.

>

Is BugBlock safe for children, pets and gardens?

We apply the product according to its label and safety data requirements. People and pets must stay away during application and until treated surfaces are dry. Tell us about fish tanks, ponds, edible plants, play areas and other sensitive areas before the visit.

>

Should BugBlock be applied after a house wash?

Yes, the exterior treatment should be applied after washing. Washing first removes dirt, old webs and egg sacs. Once the surfaces are clean and dry, we apply BugBlock before spiders have time to rebuild. A house wash is recommended when the exterior is dirty, but BugBlock can also be booked as a standalone service.
