Looking after your property can involve much more than booking the work.

There are providers to find, quotes to compare and different recommendations to make sense of. Then there’s working out which job should happen first and getting everyone’s schedules to line up.

Blast Away Guys brings exterior cleaning, BugBlock insect treatments and wider pest control together with chimney sweeping, motorhome and caravan washing and ceramic protective wax coatings, and other property-care services. The work is backed by relevant qualifications, practical training and independently assessed health and safety systems.

Based in Whangārei, we provide exterior cleaning and BugBlock services across Northland and Auckland. We also carry out chimney sweeps and inspections, including work in Auckland. Tell us your address and the services you need, and we’ll confirm availability.

We’ll explain your options, recommend a suitable approach and coordinate the services you choose. You can also bundle suitable services and save, with each item priced clearly so you can choose what works for you.

Our credentials and what they mean for your property

SiteWise Gold

Independently assessed health and safety systems.

Blast Away Guys holds SiteWise Gold accreditation. Our health and safety systems undergo independent assessment.

For you, that provides evidence of the systems behind the work, alongside the site-specific planning needed for your property.

The assessment supports our wider approach to training, equipment, protective clothing, hazard management and safe working procedures.

Qualified pest management

Pete Corney, co-founder of Blast Away Guys, holds an NZQA Level 3 qualification in Pest Operations, specialising in Urban Pest Management.

He is registered with the Pest Management Association of New Zealand, known as PMANZ, as a Qualified Technician.

Pete provides practical pest-treatment training for our technicians and assesses their competence initially. He guides product selection and application and remains available when technicians need advice about an unfamiliar situation.

Chimney sweeping and inspection training

Blast Away Guys is a member of the New Zealand Home Heating Association, or NZHHA. Four of our technicians have completed its chimney sweeping and inspection training.

That training supports the sweep and inspection itself. Working-at-heights training supports safe access when the job involves working on a roof.

Our chimney sweeps and inspections include an inspection report and sweep certificate, giving you a record of the work and any findings that need attention.

Working at heights: training for every technician who accesses roofs

Every Blast Away Guys technician who accesses roofs has completed working-at-heights training with relevant NZQA unit standards.

A qualification is one part of the preparation. We also assess the property, access, conditions and work involved to determine the equipment and controls needed for the job.

For a chimney sweep carried out from the top down, safe roof access and the sweep itself require different skills. Our working-at-heights training and specialist chimney training support those different parts of the work.

Roof access is planned alongside the work that needs to be done.

Elevated work platform training for the jobs that need it

Pete, Steve and Jeff have completed mobile elevated work platform training, including relevant NZQA unit standards for boom and scissor lifts.

When a job needs an elevated work platform, we plan the access, equipment and site conditions alongside the work itself. That helps us choose a suitable approach for your building and the people around it.

Our central training register records the training and relevant renewal dates.

We added services because customers kept asking

“Do you treat inside as well?”

“Can you recommend someone to fix our gutters?”

Those questions helped shape the services we offer today.

Customers already knew us for exterior cleaning. Increasingly, they were asking whether we could take care of other jobs or recommend someone who could.

Rather than simply adding another item to our service list, we invested in the training, practical skills, equipment and procedures to support the work.

Internal insect treatments became part of BugBlock. We added gutter repairs. Chimney sweeping and inspections were a natural extension of our property-care work, with roof-access training already in place and specialist sweep and inspection training added alongside it.

Downpipe diverters came from another recurring problem. Customers wanted a roof treatment, but their roof supplied tank water and their downpipes could not readily be disconnected. Installing diverters gave us a practical way to help them divert roof water away from the tank during treatment and the required flushing period.

Each addition started with something a customer needed help with.

Less organising. Less to keep in your head.

For co-founder Brya Page, conversations at her monthly gathering with three other women brought the customer’s experience into sharper focus.

They were talking about arranging solar panel cleaning, house washing, bug treatments and window cleaning. Different providers. Different quotes. Different recommendations.

One woman, a customer who has since become a good friend of Brya’s, described the work involved in arranging several providers for jobs around her property.

There were quotes to request, different recommendations to weigh up and bookings to organise in the right order. When the first provider needed to postpone, the other arrangements needed to move too.

It highlighted something easily overlooked: the customer is doing a coordination job before anyone arrives to do the physical work.

It was a reminder that the work itself is only part of the job for the customer. Researching, comparing and coordinating everything takes time and brain space too.

That helped cement the direction of Blast Away Guys. Bring more relevant skills into the team, explain the options clearly and make the work easier for the customer to organise.

You can explain what needs attention, ask questions and receive one quote with the services priced individually. We help work out the sequence and coordinate the technicians. You choose which items to accept.

We plan the order and coordinate the booking

When services need to happen in a particular sequence, we plan that with you.

For example, exterior washing comes before exterior BugBlock treatment. We apply the treatment once the appropriate surfaces are clean and dry, so the washing doesn’t remove treatment you have just paid for.

Novi coordinates the technicians, booking and weather-related scheduling. You have one point of contact, rather than having to rearrange several providers yourself.

Practical training, with support when it’s needed

Formal qualifications give our team an important foundation. Practical training helps turn that knowledge into work on different properties, surfaces and appliances.

Our training includes team sessions and individual instruction. For chimney work, our training framework distinguishes between supervised work, work completed with remote support and independent work.

We keep a central training register recording qualifications, training dates and relevant expiry or renewal dates.

We also consult experienced external industry trainers and advisers when needed, including for recommendations on best practice and product selection.

Health and safety, protective equipment and the precautions needed around people and property form part of that preparation.

BugBlock and wider pest control

Our pest-control services include interior and exterior insect treatments, rat and mouse control, bird control, and targeted treatment for persistent cockroach problems.

We recommend an approach based on the pest, property and conditions involved. Some problems need follow-up visits or a different approach from a general insect treatment. We’ll explain what we recommend and why.

Chimney sweeps and inspections

Specialist chimney training supports the sweep and inspection. Practical sessions and access to appliance-specific information support the work on different fireplaces and flue configurations.

Motorhome and caravan care

Our property-care services also include motorhome and caravan washing and ceramic protective wax coatings. We choose the approach to suit the vehicle’s surfaces and explain the options before you book.

Ask us to include your motorhome or caravan when you request a quote for other work.

Knowledge the whole team can access

Useful knowledge shouldn’t depend on which technician happens to remember a particular conversation.

We’ve created a central, searchable knowledge resource that our technicians can access from their phones while on site. We continually add information about our services, equipment, products, appliance models and approaches to different situations.

For example, when inspecting a particular fireplace, a technician can search for information relevant to that model. For other work, they can look up procedures, available options and best-practice guidance.

This gives the team a shared reference they can return to whenever needed. It also supports our practical training and access to experienced external industry trainers and advisers.

Clear options before you decide

You shouldn’t need to become an expert in exterior cleaning to choose the right service.

If you ask for a roof clean, we’ll explain whether a treatment, a wash or another approach is appropriate for your roof and the result you want.

Where treatment is suitable, it can be a gentler, more cost-effective option than washing. It works gradually, so we also explain the difference between that approach and an immediate clean.

The same principle applies across our services: understand what you need, explain the options and help you make an informed decision.

Bundle and save on the jobs that make sense for you

You can ask us to price a house wash, roof treatment, gutter clear or repair, BugBlock treatment, chimney sweep, motorhome or caravan wash, ceramic protective wax coating, or another combination of services.

Bundling suitable services gives you more than a saving. You have trained people taking care of the work, one point of contact and a plan for getting the jobs done in the right order.

Combining suitable jobs can reduce separate visits and create savings. Your quote shows the services and prices individually, along with the applicable bundle savings.

You can accept the items you want, remove others or ask us to help prioritise around your budget.

We’ll confirm what can be completed together. Some work needs separate visits, particular weather conditions or follow-up treatment.

Our 100% Love Clean Guarantee

Our cleaning work is backed by our Love Clean Guarantee:

If you are not completely satisfied with your clean, let us know and we will come back and sort it for free. If you are still not happy, we won’t charge you a cent.

You can tell us if something isn’t right. We’ll listen and follow through.

Want to check the evidence?

If you’re choosing a contractor for your home, workplace, school or managed property, you’re welcome to ask about the qualifications and safety documentation relevant to your job.

We can explain who will carry out the work and provide relevant supporting evidence for your contractor checks.

Ready to get it sorted?

Tell us what is on your list, even if you’re unsure which services you need.

Novi will review your request, ask any questions and help put together a quote. Each service is priced individually, so you can choose what works for your property and budget.
