Building and villa washing
Exterior cladding, joinery, eaves, entrance alcoves, outside gutter faces and suitable signage. The method is chosen for the material, condition and access.
FOR VILLAGE MANAGERS, FACILITIES TEAMS & CARE PROVIDERS
Building washing across Northland and Auckland, planned around the people who live there.
A retirement village is someone’s home. An aged-care facility is also a workplace, a place for visitors and a setting where everyday routines matter.
Blast Away Guys provides exterior building washing, roof treatment, gutter clearing, window cleaning and hard-surface cleaning for retirement villages and aged-care properties.
We agree access, staging and communication with your site contact before work begins. That means considering residents, staff, deliveries, appointments and the routes people need to use throughout the day.
Our head office and most of our team are based in Whangārei. We also have team members based in Auckland, serving properties across both regions.
Tell us whether you need individual villas, shared buildings, a care facility or a multi-building programme cleaned. We can assess the work together, plan the sequence and provide the relevant safety documentation for your contractor checks.
Book a specific service or ask us to quote suitable work together. We confirm the buildings, surfaces and inclusions in the quote.
Exterior cladding, joinery, eaves, entrance alcoves, outside gutter faces and suitable signage. The method is chosen for the material, condition and access.
We assess the roof and explain treatment versus washing. Treatment works gradually and can suit planned maintenance. Washing may suit work that needs an immediate result.
Gutter clearing and downpipe flushing. We can also assess minor repairs, including loose clips, sagging sections and damaged gutter or downpipe sections.
Concrete, paving, steps, entrances, courtyards and suitable car-park surfaces. We plan the work area, runoff controls and reopening of access alongside the cleaning.
Commercial pure-water window cleaning on suitable glazing, plus solar panel cleaning. We assess the height, access and required finish before confirming the approach.
BugBlock exterior treatments can be coordinated after washing. We plan application, access and relevant precautions around the people and activities on site.
A pot by the front door, a favourite garden bed, a chair in the afternoon sun. These outdoor spaces belong to the people who live here.
Before the programme starts, we agree how suitable pots, plants, ornaments and movable furniture will be handled. Where moving and returning items is included in the scope, we record positions where useful and return belongings once the work is complete and the area is safe.
Fragile, heavy or fixed items are discussed rather than moved without permission.
We plan protection for flowers, shrubs, lawns and planted areas. Where appropriate, vegetation is pre-wetted before cleaning and rinsed afterwards. Additional shielding or other controls are used where needed.
We agree how management will coordinate resident notifications and share individual preferences, parking restrictions, access arrangements and other considerations.
We also agree temporary restrictions and how residents will be told when an area is safe to use again. Updates continue as the work progresses, including weather-related changes.
We plan entrances, paths, hoses, equipment and work zones around the routes people need to use. Meals, appointments, deliveries, staff movements and quiet areas are discussed with the site contact.

We choose cleaning products, application methods and treatment strengths for the surface and the organic growth involved. Products are handled with care around people, animals, vegetation and waterways.
Before starting, we identify drains, runoff paths, planted areas and other sensitive locations. The controls are chosen for the actual site conditions.
We have drain mats and use suitable physical controls, controlled application, diversion or containment where needed to prevent contaminated wash water or treatment entering stormwater or waterways.
Some areas may need water-only cleaning. If suitable environmental controls cannot be achieved, we stop and reassess the method before proceeding.
Technicians follow documented handling, dilution, PPE and spill procedures. We do not spray in rain or unsuitable wind, and keep people and animals clear of application areas until safe.
Ask us for the relevant product information and Safety Data Sheets when reviewing the proposal for your site.

Blast Away Guys holds SiteWise Gold accreditation. Our health and safety systems are independently assessed, with relevant supporting documentation available for your contractor checks.
Our four-stage JSA/SWMS process covers pre-start checks, preparing the work area, carrying out the booked services and a safe pack-down and handover.
It considers site-specific hazards, people and traffic, access equipment, chemical handling, drainage, emergency arrangements and changes as the work progresses. The crew reviews the assessment together.
Every technician who accesses roofs has completed working-at-heights training with relevant NZQA unit standards. Our team includes trained EWP operators. Equipment is selected for the site and task.

Our retirement-village experience includes several years of repeat washing at a large Northland village, alongside work at villages in Kerikeri and Waipū.
We washed a large Northland retirement village over several years. Returning to the same site brought familiarity with its buildings, layout and the practical demands of working where people live.
That experience informs how we plan village work today, from access and the cleaning sequence to communication with the site contact.
Our village work has included building washing and roof treatment, including roofs over office and communal buildings.
We bring that experience to the quote for your site. We look at the buildings and surfaces involved, discuss resident access and agree how the work will be organised.
We keep customer names off this page to protect commercially sensitive relationships. Ask us about relevant experience and references as part of your contractor checks.
From a commercial partner we’ve worked with since 2012:
“Their team understands the importance of meeting agreed deadlines and planning each project carefully to minimise disruption to businesses, residents, customers and other site users.”

Residents can also ask Blast Away Guys for motorhome and caravan washing, with ceramic protective wax coatings available.
If residents are interested, we can provide individual quotes and help get the work sorted. This can be discussed alongside a village cleaning programme or as a separate booking.
We agree a suitable washing location, water supply and access arrangements with the resident and village management where relevant.

We can discuss a one-off clean or scheduled exterior maintenance. The right programme depends on building materials, exposure, the site’s needs and any manufacturer care requirements.
Combining suitable roof, gutter, building and hard-surface work can reduce duplicated access, travel and setup. We explain the scope and pricing so you can plan the work and budget.
The team checks completed areas, returns belongings moved as part of the agreed scope, removes waste arising from our work and advises management of visible maintenance concerns.
Tell us if you need photos or post-wash reporting for property records. We agree reporting requirements as part of the job.
Novi coordinates booking and weather-related changes. We agree who should receive updates and who can authorise changes to the scope.
If you are not completely satisfied with your clean, let us know and we will come back and sort it for free. If you are still not happy, we won’t charge you a cent.
We can assess either. Tell us the buildings and services required, access restrictions and preferred timing. We recommend a practical scope and discuss staging where needed.
That depends on the work and the areas affected. We agree access arrangements, preparation and any temporary restrictions with the site contact. We do not assume the whole property needs to close.
