Before your commercial exterior clean, close all windows and doors, clear the outdoor areas included in your booking and tell us about leaking joinery, sensitive plants or neighbouring properties that could be affected.
A few checks before wash day help us get straight to work and reduce disruption for your business. This guide is for businesses and property managers preparing for a Blast Away Guys visit.
Yes. All windows and exterior doors must be closed before we can proceed with washdown work. Please check the whole building, including upstairs windows and rooms that are not used every day.
If your windows are old or wooden, or the seals are perishing, place old towels along the inside sills. If you are unsure whether they might leak, we recommend towels as a precaution.
Use towels you do not mind being bleached. Cleaning solution that gets through can bleach them. Water and cleaning solution entering through leaking joinery can also reach curtains, furniture and carpet, causing bleaching or damage. Tell us about known leaks before we arrive.
Blast Away Guys is not liable for damage caused by water or chemical ingress through windows, doors or perishing seals where preparation steps have not been followed, or where the property has ageing or defective joinery.

If we are washing paths, decks or concrete areas, move outdoor furniture, signage and potted plants so we have full access to the surfaces being cleaned.
If something is too bulky or heavy, give us a heads-up before the day. We are happy to help where we can.

Please let us know about sensitive plants or any plants you are concerned about. Point out which plants in particular need attention so we can plan their protection.
If someone will be on site, they can wet those plants down before we start and rinse them afterwards. If no one will be there, our team can do this for you.
We can also bring plastic painters’ drop cloths for particularly sensitive plants, or plants you feel need an additional barrier. Let us know beforehand so we can bring them.
Please tell us if nearby businesses or residents could be affected by noise, water spray or access during the job. The timing matters too. For example, after-hours work near a restaurant or home can still cause disruption.
Give us a heads-up about any concerns and we will work with you to minimise issues.

For the outside-tap bucket test and other general preparation, see our exterior cleaning preparation guide. Tell us about any water-supply or access concerns before wash day.
These services have their own guidance. Please read the roof treatment weather guide if roof treatment is included, and the BugBlock preparation checklist if you have booked insect treatment.
Call 027 238 8738 or email info@blastawayguys.co.nz before your appointment. Let us know what needs a little extra planning so we can get it sorted.
