Your caravan, campervan or motorhome is clean. Here is how to care for it between washes, including the protective wax finish we apply.

What finish did we apply?

We use Nerta Hydro Ceramic Wax, a rinse-off protective wax with ceramic characteristics. It helps water bead and run off and adds gloss to the washed surface.

It still needs gentle washing and ongoing care. The finish does not prevent all dirt, water spotting, scratches or weathering.

After our visit

  • Follow any specific instructions our technician gives you, especially if your booking included an awning clean, stain treatment or another service.
  • Use a clean, soft microfibre cloth for accessible water droplets if needed. Do not rub a dry or gritty surface.
  • If an awning was washed or became wet, let it dry fully before rolling it away when conditions allow. If you must pack it away damp, reopen it to dry as soon as you safely can.

Between trips: remove salt, bugs and bird droppings gently

After coastal travel, rinse accessible exterior surfaces with fresh water once any job-specific restrictions have been met. Avoid directing water into vents, seals, electrical fittings or appliance openings.

Soften insect residue and bird droppings with water before lifting them gently with a suitable wash product and soft cloth. Do not scrape them off or reach for an abrasive pad.

How to wash it next time

  • Work in shade on cool surfaces. Start by rinsing loose dirt away.
  • Use a mild vehicle shampoo compatible with your vehicle, windows and protective wax. Follow the product dilution and vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Wash in manageable sections with a clean, soft brush or mitt. Keep wheel-cleaning tools separate from the bodywork.
  • Rinse before the wash solution dries. Dry accessible areas with clean, grit-free microfibre cloths if needed.

Avoid strong household cleaners, abrasive polishes and unapproved solvents. They can affect finishes, seals, decals or the protective wax. If you are unsure about a product, ask us before using it.

Acrylic windows need extra care

Many caravan and motorhome side windows are acrylic, rather than glass. Rinse grit away first and use a cleaner approved for those windows.

Do not dry-wipe dusty windows or assume a household glass cleaner is suitable. Use a soft, clean, damp cloth and follow the window manufacturer’s instructions.

Pressure washing and roof access

High pressure can damage decals, seals and sensitive fittings or force water into openings. Use a gentle rinse and avoid pressure washing unless your vehicle manufacturer specifically permits the method you are using.

Do not climb onto the roof or stand on solar panels to clean them. Let us help with areas you cannot reach safely from the ground.

When should I book another wash?

There is no single interval that suits every vehicle. Coastal trips, road grime, tree cover and outdoor storage all affect how quickly it gets dirty.

Check it after trips and during storage. Book a wash before heavy build-up develops, and ask us about refreshing the protective wax at your next visit.

Something does not look right?

Please contact us before trying a stronger cleaner. Send a photo, your job address and a brief description so we can advise.
